ORIX began operations in 1964 as a pioneer of leasing in Japan.   ORIX has a global network that spans 27 countries and regions worldwide. ORIX is made up of 798 consolidated subsidiaries and 104 affiliates. ORIX USA Corporation (dba ORIX Rentec USA) is working in collaboration with ORIX Rentec Corporation, one of the subsidiary companies focused on Test & Measurement and IT Equipment rentals and leases.  ORIX Rentec's inventory of over 675,000 items of 22,000 types of equipment is the largest of its kind in the industry. It is the undisputed leader in the rental of precision measuring equipment in Japan. 

In 1992, ORIX Rentec was the first rental company in Japan to achieve ISO9002 quality assurance certification (renamed ISO9001). ORIX Rentec is also certified under ISO14001 for its environmental management system and accredited under ISO/IEC 17025 for 'General requirements for the competence of calibration and testing laboratories.' In February 2007, ORIX Rentec achieved ISO27001 certification for its information security management system.
